Thawalama Development Foundation

No. 5, Rajakeeya Mawatha, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka.

The Thawalama Development Foundation (TDF) was established on 1994 April 25th to support and assist in the implementation of Project Thawalama approved by the Ministry of Defense on 1994 January 14th. http://thawalama.org

The officials of the “Thawalama Foundation”  went with “Success Organisation in Colombo” to the Manik Farm on Sunday (25 April 2009)to conduct a medical camp and to distribute to the newly arrived internally displaced persons milk powder, dry rations , biscuits, children’s toys, new and used clothes etc. The problems there are beyond imagination and getting more complicated with each passing day. There are over 125,000 internally displaced persons in this camp already, with inadequate water and toilet facilities and many more are arriving in buses at regular intervals. There were people suffering from dehydration and thousands with various type of illnesses and infected wounds that had to be attended to immediately. The doctors who went with us did the best they could, they working from morning to evening, treating patients and giving them free medicine.
